Embracing Hopelessness and Despair for a Brighter Tomorrow
The way that you know that you're bypassing with hope is that you're not holding hope ‘with.’ You're not doing both.
In this episode, I'm delving into two emotions most of us try to avoid—hopelessness and despair.
I'll be talking about why these feelings are actually crucial for true transformation in ourselves and the world around us. Given the challenging times we're living in and the strong inner callings we feel, it's important that we can face and work through these (and all!) difficult emotions in a healthy and productive way.
Unfortunately, our endlessly busy lives, driven by the demands of capitalism and other systems, often leave us little time to confront these deeper experiences and feelings. You're not holding hope with heartbreak, grief, the triggers, the activated state that inevitably happens when we're bearing witness to these things when we're present with them. You're not feeling your rage and fury. You're not feeling your grief and terror. You're simply ‘hoping’ for a positive outcome. You're simply trying to remain optimistic. And this is no different than toxic positivity and spiritually bypassing.”
