Around Here (The “Is Summer Over Yet?” Edition)
No matter what we’re going through, it’s always a season.
Merry August, friends.
We’re so close to cooler temps here in New Mexico, and I can’t wait.
It’s been a long summer for multiple reasons.
Health… heat…
Okay, maybe just two reasons. 😅
Regardless, it’s been a season that feels endless and overwhelming at times. I’m frequently shocked by the realization that it’s only been a small handful of months that specific experiences have existed and persisted. It’s easy to get lost in a season of life and believe it’s all there is, things will always be this way, or it will never get better.
No matter what we’re going through, it’s always a season.
Some are long and hard, some are short and lovely, and others are a beautiful or heartbreaking blend. But every season gives way to the next, and that’s something I’ve been reminded of lately. I’ve lived through so many seasons (as have you), and every single one transitioned to another at some point. That doesn’t mean everything comes to an end, but it does mean that everything shifts and evolves—including us and our relationships, experiences, and circumstances. Always, without fail.
This is a season I won’t ever forget because there’s been so much beauty and chaos wrapped together in a mess of memories that will forever live in my heart. It’s a season that’s most definitely shaping me further into my truest, most aligned self. A season I may cry my way through at times, but that I know I’ll look back at with a fondness I wouldn’t expect because it’s cracking me open to more of what’s good.
Whew, this life is a never-ending journey, am I right?
